There will be more than a bit of Dufnering tonight if Jason Dufner wins. You're not famous these days until you become a meme.
Top of the Leaderboard: -10 Dufner -9 Furyk -8 Stenson -5 Day, Piercy, Scott, Blixt
Yuck, the Duff man hoicks his tee shot into the jungle. His chances of escaping with par look slim. Furyk struggles to find the fairway but the call clings on to the rough. At least he's got a shot.
Dufner lays up superbly just carrying the sand giving him a put for par. Furyk is in deep deep rough 50 yards shy of the green, but gets himself out of trouble also with a chance putt at par.
You're not wrong Sam, there's a time and a place for nonsense and carping and the USPGA isn't it.
Dufner somewhat unbelievably saves par with a nice up and downer and Furyk follows his lead. They remain at 10 under after some excellent scramble golf.
Incredible shot from the Duff man on the 8th who is all over the pin from 120 yards for a birdie putt.
Its the clubhouse lead for Jason Day but he'll rue three bogeys on the last three holes to leave him at -3 for the tournament . Not nearly enough.
Stenson parred the 9th leaving himself ensconced at -8 in third place. You sense it'll take some shenanaghins on the back 9 for him to peg back Dufner.
Cousins down under, Adam Scott is still in there playing nicely. He turned in 34 and is sitting at -6.
To continue the love of all things Sweden Stenson sinks a par saving putt . Oh ye of iron will, that was a clutch moment. Dufner continues the march by creaming a tee shot on 11 within birdie distance.
Not to be outdone Jim Furyk also finds the dancefloor, he's a game competitor and he's having a real go.
Dufner and Furyk trade pars on the 9th. Duner just under-hit his putt, perhaps overcompensating for the gradient. And then we turn...
Sweet mother of zeitgeist and high culture! Jonas Blixt just flops a blinder of an approach shot to within inches of the cup from 180 yards. Fabulous play. His partner Stenson hacks one out of the rough then misses his birdie putt. They'll both par.
Adam Scott monsters one down the fairway, then duffs the follow-up shot with his wedge. Wheels could be off on the 13th.
Not a bad way to enjoy the golf.
Another close call as a putt from Dufner from 10 feet flirts with the right side of the cup and stays out. Furyk slides his put left though so its par - par again on the 12th for the last pair.
Woof! A 2nd shot Stenson howitzer on the par 5 13th chases up the fairway and carries to the green! It'll be an eagle putt to move one back from Dufner!
Sketchy stuff from Furyk, narrowly missing the water off the tee, then mucking about in the rough on his second shot. With Stenson lurking he needs to keep it together.
