A lot has been made of Murray playing on Armstrong as opposed to Arthur Ashe. And you do get the feeling that he could've done with a bit more room at the back of the court there. Mayer looking strong.

Bit of trivia for you. Both Leonardo Mayer and Andy Murray entered the world on the same day. May 15th 1987.
Sit down please! Umpire yelling at the crowd to sit down as they try to pile into Louis Armstrong court with play on Arthur Ashe finished for the afternoon. It is pretty much packed now.
Mentioned earlier Mayer and Murray share the same birthday. That is pretty much where the similarity ends though in terms of what both have achieved in the game. Mayer has 1 career title, Murray has 28. Not to mention the two Grand Slam titles...
New balls! Mayer doesn't seem to be taking to them too well. Finds himself 0-30 down on serve. Could this be the first slip up from either player on their service game?
Change of shirt for Mayer. Fluorescent yellow to a white one. Could nearly get away with playing in that kit at Wimbledon. May have to change the socks though...
Anyway back to the action on court... Mayer produces a brilliant shot to save a break point and force deuce.
What a stunning point!! A super serve from Mayer is prodded back by Murray. It lands in and the pair trade hammer blows before a sumptuous, delightful little drop shot which Murray has no chance of reaching, even on a hard court. Amazing.
Perhaps a silly thing to say given what happened when I mentioned it earlier during the Robson match but maybe a chance? 0-30 on the Mayer serve.
