Good morning and welcome to MSN Sport's live coverage of the 2014 Ryder Cup. We will be here all weekend to ensure you don't miss a thing as Europe look to retain the trophy at Gleneagles. Rory McIlroy and co are the bookies favourites but there are plenty backing the Americans for just their second win in seven Ryder Cups. So, who will triumph? Vote in our poll below and hit 'comment' and give us your thoughts.
The players have made their way out onto the tee and, as expected, Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson receive a huge ovation and we get our first cries of "Europe, Europe" from the Gleneagles crowd. How will Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson cope? We are about to find out. Let's go!
It really is a golf event like no other and the cheers when the player's names are read out are far more audible for the European pair. It would appear nerves are even getting to the announcer who incorrectly names Bubba Watson as the first man to tee off when in fact Simpson is off first. And it's a poor shot, hardly travels anywhere and only just makes the fairway while Watson's effort travels considerably further.
Fine opening drives from both Rose and Stenson. The atmosphere already at Gleneagles is raucous.
Bubba finds the green from the rough while Rose continues his solid start with a great approach shot. Birdie putt now for Simpson, who somehow just managed to creep his second shot onto the green.
It's never in danger of finding the hole but after that first shot, it's a decent recovery from Simpson.
The second pairings now teeing off. Ricky Fowler and Jimmy Walker taking on Thomas Bjorn and Martin Kaymer.
No complaints about the opening drives from any of the Europeans so far. Very encouraging.
A special moment for home favourite Stephen Gallacher as he walks out on home territory for his Ryder Cup debut, alongside a tournament veteran Ian Poulter. An interesting pairing for sure.
"There's only one Ian Poulter". If the crowds can stay like this all weekend it's going to be a memorable event.
Most of the Europeans sporting the blue and white oven gloves on a fresh morning up in Scotland.
Poulter applauds the crowd as he leaves the opening tee after his shot falls just into the rough, but a decent angle to reach the green.
Justin Rose's luck is not quite in at the moment. Just as with the first hole, he falls just shot with his putt and up steps Webb Simpson for birdie.
But it curls right and it's been a shaky start from Simpson.
Almost time for the highlight clash of the morning. McIlroy and Garcia make their way out to take on Mickelson & Bradley.

Plenty of power on the opening drive by Keegan Bradley but he drags it horribly right and he has a tricky second shot to reach the green at that angle from the rough. Better from Mickelson who just ensure he stays on the fairway,
No complaints at all in the reply as McIlroy thunders his tee shot down the fairway in the best of the opening four shots in the final match to get underway this morning.
Glad to have you on board Josh!
Let's hope so. That always looked like the pairing perhaps most at threat for Europe, in terms of rankings at least.
The first moment of magic on the green as McIlroy halves the opening hole for Europe against Mickelson & Bradley.
Good to hear Daniel! I'll make sure you don't miss anything!
