Anderson made some good ground there to take the catch off his own bowling
Steve Smith finishes unbeaten on 138
The Aussies are wandering out onto the field. They've got 20 overs to heap the pressure on England. Play can go on until 7:30pm.
It'll be Mitchell Starc to start things off from the Vauxhall End. Here we go.
Starc drops short and the England captain is off the mark with a pull down to fine leg.
That's the perfect start for an opener. Starc fires one wide of leg stump and Cook glances it for four. ENG 6-0
Ryan Harris takes the new ball from the Pavilion End. Unlike Starc, he's on the spot right away.
Couple of leaves and some solid defence from Root. Harris starts with a maiden.
Starc's wayward again and Cook takes an easy two into the leg side. The Aussie left-armer goes fuller and Cook plays and misses at the outswinger. ENG 8-0
That's an absolute jaffa from Harris. He nips one away late from Root off the seam and past the Yorkshireman's outside edge.
Another maiden from Harris. Root stuck on 0 after 12 balls. He's not yet bogged down like he was at Durham and Old Trafford though. His attacking shots have gone straight to the fielders thus far. ENG 8/0
Another nurdled leg side single for Cook gives us Starc to Root for the first time but the left-armer's line is still awry. ENG 9-0.
James Faulkner replaces the wayward Starc at the Vauxhall End and he induces a edge from Joe Root immediately. It falls short of the slips.
Root is off the mark. Faulkner drops short and cuts him through backward point for three. ENG 12-0.
It's a double change by Michael Clarke. Here comes Peter Siddle from the Pavilion End. His full length could trouble Joe Root.
Siddle goes wide of the crease and immediately produces a fierce delivery that squares Root up.
Faulkner slants one across Root who flashes hard and misses. It wasn't short enough to cut.
Good delivery from Faulkner. It's full and seams away late to beat Cook. ENG 14-0
That's better from Root. Short and wide from Siddle. Cut cleanly for four.
Top shot! Too short from Faulkner. Cook rocks onto the back foot and pulls him hard for four. ENG 22-0.
Siddle's getting some swing now. He's attacking Root's stumps and getting the ball to in-duck just a little.
Starc's back on but his radar is still off. Way off. Not sure how Aleem Dar doesn't think that was a wide.It was Mitchell Johnson-esque. ENG 24-0.
Lovely shot from Root as he leans into a wide one from Siddle and slams it through extra cover for four. ENG 28-0.
England are crawling along at two runs an over - not for the first time in this series. Does the top order need to be more aggressive?
