England score 13 runs off the first 10 overs.
It's not going to be a run fest that's for sure
Trott is struck on the pads. Given not out by Erasmus but Aus have reviewed.
I think it's missing leg but I've not got a great record on these things
It's clipping leg so it stays with the on field call - Trott gets away with that
It really does seem utterly unfair that Aus lose a review for that. It was hitting leg stump. It was a good review
That's a right old nonsense. If the ball is hitting the stump it's hitting the stump. Umpires call is ridiculous.
The DRS is coming under some right pressure
gosh. Trott has feathered it behind to Haddin.
Well well well - this is not exactly what we thought would be happening today
Siddle on to bowl in the 15th over,
Eng 22/2 (said in my best Richie Benaud voice)
Root dropped by Clarke in the slips. Bad drop, it hit him on the arm not the hands
Clarke drops the Ashes etc etc
KP is caught behind but he is reviewing it.
Blimey blimey blimey
Oh Lordy there's no hotspot
Good grief. England are 27/3
Well - this is a turn up folks. Cricket eh?
Root's first 4 from the 51st ball that he faced
2 minutes to lunch.
England like this being 3 down quickly business - they were 28/3 and 30/3 at Lord's
Michael Clarke is going to bowl the last over before lunch.
Morning session summary
Despite forecasts of weather armageddon play got underway at 11.30. Australia declared overnight leaving England a notional 332 to win. Cook was out LBW for 0 off Harris and wasted a review before trudging off. 10 overs later Trott survived an LBW shout but was out a few balls later feathering behind also off Ryan Harris.
England's struggles continued when Pietersen was adjudged caught behind off Siddle leaving them 27/3 after 17 overs and having lost both their reviews.
Root and Bell struggled on to take the score to 35/3 at lunch.
Sadly the black clouds are looming
Sorry folks the covers are all coming on here.
Will keep you posted
The covers are coming off. I suspect we'll start in about 30-40 minutes if no more rain
Play will start at 2pm - quick clear up operation here.
OK Kids - the hover cover has hovered off and the umpires are out
So Siddle resumes from the Statham End. Sheesh it's black out there.
I'm no John Kettley but I think we won't be on for long
Bell nicks one off the top of the bat but it just flies over the top of slips.
It's hit Bell on the hand and he is in a lot of pain.
Oh Sorry - the rain is hosing down again now and the covers are back on
