Over 71 Australia 174/6 Haddin 11* Agar 1*
It's overcast - the floodlights are on. We start this final day with Swann to bowl to the first innings hero Ashton Agar.
He defends the first ball of the morning solidly on the front foot. The 5th ball is a quicker straight ball from Swann which has Agar on the back foot playing out into the offside. We start with a maiden
Over 72 Australia 178/6 Haddin 15* Agar 1*
It's 8 overs till the new ball but will they take it? It didn't work very well for Australia taking the new ball. Hussein and Strauss say they wouldn't take it.
It's Anderson bowling to Haddin who squirts the 3rd ball out into the off-side - a good probing length from Anderson who is getting this old ball to move both ways. Haddin is right back in his crease and Prior is right up to the stumps. The fifth ball bounces a bit more and it flies past Swann at slip and down to 3rd man for 4.
Over 74 178/6 Haddin 15* Agar 1*
Agar has such a high back lift - there's a bottom edge out into the legside and he wants a single but Haddin sends him back. He is solid in defence but is 1 from 35 balls and will at some point want to play some shots. Another maiden from Swann
Over 75 Australia 178/6 Haddin 15* Agar 1*
Anderson continues to Haddin. He props forward and solidly defends the first ball which is just outside the off stump. There's a lot of bounce from the 4th ball, Haddin has a go at driving but it bounces through to Prior standing up to the stumps. It's another maiden
Over 76 Australia 180/6 Haddin 15* Agar 3*
Agar sends the 3rd ball very fine and they get 2 runs - Haddin wanted 3 but they pull out. And as it stands Agar has a Test average of 100!
Final ball is tossed right up and Agar drives on the up but it's stopped by Jonny Bairstow.
Over 77 Australia 180/6 Agar 3* Haddin 15*
Haddin drives the 4th ball square of the wicket but it's not timed very well and the fielder chops off the single. The pitch is so slow, batting so tough. It's another maiden. This is just so tense.
Over 78 Australia 182/6 Agar 4* Haddin 16*
Agar takes a gentle single from the 3rd ball of Swann's over. Then he bowls a bit fuller and gets Haddin going on to his back foot with a high defence shot. Then he drives against the spin down to mid-on for a single. 2 from the over.
Over 79 Australia 182/6 Haddin 16* Agar 4*
It's Anderson continuing to Haddin. Back of a length which Haddin can defend. This is seriously tense. Australia cannot score but are solidly defending. Haddin chips the 5th ball back up the pitch but it lands safely.
Over 79 Australia 187/6 Haddin 20* Agar 5*
The first ball from Swann is quicker and Agar dabs it behind square for a single. Smart batting. Then Haddin opens up and slog sweeps for 4. Here we go..... first sign of any aggression from Australia. He's happy to play the rest defensively off the back foot. Drives the final ball square for no run.
Over 80 Australia 191/6 Agar 9* Haddin 20*
Dangerous shot from Agar flashing outside the off - it whizzes past the edge of his bat. Then off the front foot he angles the bat and gets it down to third man for a 4. Cook puts a man into 3rd man. Just the one slip in now. Agar is looking to drive. Plays the last ball very well to point.
Over 81 Australia 191/6 Haddin 20* Agar 9*
Swann bowls very wide of off stump which Haddin can pad away safely. He plays the 4th ball away into the legside for no run. He pads away the 5th ball and there's an appeal - not sure what for - it wasn't going to hit another set of stumps. The final ball is driven back up the wicket to Swann
Over 82 Australia 194/6 Agar 10* Haddin 22*
They've taken the new ball and the first ball jabs back and hits Agar on the pad but it's not given and not reviewed. The next ball is played well by Agar - it bounces half way up his pads and he plays it late. Agar then cuts away beautifully but it's cut off on the boundary by Trott - just a single. The final ball is pushed and they scamper a very quick 2. Good running
Over 83 Australia 194/6 Agar 10* Haddin 22*
It's Broad into the attack unsurprisingly now the new ball has been taken. He's bowling to Agar. 2 slips in. Agar drives hard at the first ball but it's chopped into the ground and bounces up taken by point. The second ball strays a long way down leg - Agar goes to flick it round the corner but misses. It's a maiden from Broad who was impressive yesterday. THe final ball just misses the outside edge of Agar's bat.
Over 84 Australia 202/6 Haddin 28* Agar 10*
Haddin plays a lovely drive on the up towards mid-off from the first ball of the over - just gets 2 from it. It was a good length ball which Haddin played positively at. Haddin goes back to the second ball and defends. Cook has taken a slip out and put a man at short extra cover. Haddin edges the 4th ball through slips and they come through for a very hurried 2. Haddin has to launch himself to make his ground and he has winded himself a bit. The final ball is played very positively by Haddin - drives through cover for a lovely 4.
Over 85 Australia 207/6 Haddin 28* Agar 14*
Agar stays legside first ball and he has room to drive away off the back foot and it runs away to the point boundary. The 4th ball gets up but Agar ducks backwards out of the way of it. The fifth ball is pitched up but keeps low and just misses the inside edge of the bat and just misses the stumps and goes for a bye. Blimey. The lead is just 104 now.
Curse of the commentator with the picture three posts below!
Over 86 Australia 207/7 Starc 0* Haddin 28*
Anderson comes round the wicket to Agar and he gets a ball to move away, Agar angles his bat and angles it straight to Cook at slip. Just (!) 3 more to get. Starc comes to the crease and straightaway gets a full swinging delivery just misses his outside edge. A wicket maiden from Anderson.
Over 87 Australia 211/7 Haddin 31* Starc 1*
Broad's first ball is squirted down to 3rd man by Haddin but Trott is down there and cuts it off for a single. Starc then gets off the mark with a clip through the legside. Broad finds Haddin's inside edge and he very nearly drags on to the stumps but it chops down and out safely. The 4th ball is skewed away on the up for 2 runs.
Over 88 Australia 211/6 Siddle 0* Haddin 31*
A beautiful ball from Anderson that pitches on leg and nips away induces the edge straight to slip and Starc is out for 1.
Anderson has been magnificent with the new ball. SIddle leaves his first ball outside off stump then plays out in to the offside for no run. Solidly defends the final ball. A wicket maiden from Anderson.
Over 89 Australia 220/8 Haddin 32* Siddle 8*
Broad's first ball is driven by Haddin through cover for a single. Broad bowls fuller to Siddle but he clips it away safely into the legside. Fuller and straighter 3rd ball defended. The 5th ball Siddle plays a risky drive on the up but it piereces the off side field and off the boundary for an important 4 runs. That's followed by a lovely timed clip through the on side through mid wicket for another 4
Over 90 Australia 223/8 Siddle 8* Haddin 35*
First ball is skewed high in the air from Haddin - there is a man out there so they just get 2. Then he pushes with fast hands just towards cover and they scamper through a single. Anderson nips the 4th ball just past the outside edge of Siddle - it kept very low. There is a mistimed single from the final ball
Over 91 Aus 225/8 Haddin 35* Siddle 10*
Swann comes into the attack, Siddle clips the first ball past short mid-wicket for a single. The next ball stays ridiculously low but it doesn't turn so misses the stumps. Maiden from Swann
Over 92 Australia 227/8 Siddle 11* Haddin 36*
Cook drops Siddle at 1st slip - it was at a good height and he was just a bit late to it. They get a single from that ball. Haddin pushes a single from the 5th ball then Siddle plays the final ball out square for no run.
